Zack the zebra lived in a zoo with zigzag fences. He loved to zoom around his zone and buzz with energy.
"Zack!" called Liz the lizard. "Zip over here!"
Zack zoomed to the lazy lizard. "What's up, Liz?"
Liz pointed her scaly nose toward the zookeeper's hut. "The zookeeper is snoozing! Let's go on an adventure!"
Zack was amazed. "But how will we get past the zillion locks?"
Liz grinned. "I have the keys in this fuzzy pouch!"
So Zack and Liz sneaked out of their zones. They tiptoed past Hazel the hazelnut-loving squirrel and Miz Gazelle who was dozing in the sun.
"Where should we go?" whispered Zack.
"To the freezer!" said Liz. "I heard the zookeeper keeps frozen treats there!"
They zigzagged through the zoo paths. Zack's hooves made a zipping sound on the pavement.
When they reached the kitchen, Liz used her key to unlock the door. Inside was a giant freezer!
"Zowie!" said Zack as they opened it. "Look at all the popsicles!"
They grabbed as many popsicles as they could carry. Blue ones, red ones, and dazzling yellow ones!
Just as they were about to zoom away, they heard a BUZZ sound.
"Oh no!" Liz froze. "It's the zookeeper's alarm!"
They tried to hide, but it was too late. The zookeeper found them with popsicle juice dripping down their chins.
But instead of getting angry, the zookeeper started to laugh.
"You two are so zany!" she said. "Next time, just ask for popsicles!"
So every Tuesday became popsicle day at the zoo, and Zack and Liz were the stars of the snack time show!
